Most Reverend David D. Kagan D.D., P.A., J.C.L., Bishop of Bismarck.

Bishop Kagan was ordained and installed as the seventh Bishop of the Diocese of Bismarck, North Dakota on November 30, 2011 by Pope Benedict XVI.

Bishop Kagan was born in Waukegan, Illinois and grew up in Spring Grove, Illinois. He entered the Salvatorian Seminary in St Nazianz, and then studied philosophy at Loras College/St. Pius X Seminary in Dubuque, and Theology at the Pontifical North American College and Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome.  Bishop Kagan has a bachelor’s degree in philosophy, bachelor’s and master’s degrees in sacred theology, and a licentiate in canon law.

Bishop Kagan was ordained a priest at the Cathedral of St. Peter in Rockford in 1975. He served at a number of parishes in the Rockford Diocese and in various positions, including high school religion instructor, teacher of medical ethics at Saint Anthony College of Nursing School, associate publisher of the Diocesan weekly paper, president of the Presbyteral Council, Judicial Vicar for the Diocesan Tribunal, Vicar General and Moderator of Curia.  He is a Knight Commander of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem and a Protonotary Apostolic.

Most Rev. Alberto Rojas D.D., M. Div., Auxiliary Bishop of Chicago

Bishop Rojas was ordained a priest on May 24, 1997 at Holy Name Cathedral, Chicago, Illinois.  He was ordained and installed as Auxiliary Bishop of Chicago on August 10, 2011.  He is the Vicar for Vicariate III.

Born in Mexico, Bishop Rojas attended college at Colegio de Ciencia y Humanidades, Aguascalientes, Mexico and studied philosophy at Seminario Sta. Maria de Guadalupe, Ags., Mexico. Bishop Rojas’ theological and seminary studies were completed at Seminario Sta. Dia de Guadalupe, Ags., Mexico and at University of St. Mary of the Lake Seminary, Mundelein.  He received his Masters of Divinity from University of St. Mary of the Lake Seminary, Mundelein.

Bishop Rojas served pastorally at several parishes in the Archdiocese of Chicago. Additionally, he was a Faculty Member at University of St. Mary of the Lake / Mundelein Seminary from July 1, 2002 through July 1, 2010.  Other positions Bishop Rojas has held include: Cardinal’s Liaison to Hispanic Catholics, Archbishop’s Delegate – Consejo Pastoral Arquidiocesano Hispano-Americano, Member, Hispanic Affairs Committee of the USCCB, Member, and Catholic Home Missions of the USCCB.

Most Rev. Andrew P. Wypych D.D., M. Div., Auxiliary Bishop of Chicago

Born in Kazimierza Wielka, Poland, Bishop Wypych’s theological and seminary studies were completed at Pat Krakow.  He received a Masters in Theology in 1979 and was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Krakow in the same year.

Bishop Wypych served as a priest at two separate parishes in Poland between 1979 and 1983.   Thereafter, he served in the Archdiocese of Chicago at Five Holy Martyrs, St. Giles, St. Ladislaus, St. Pancratius and St. Francis Borgia Parishes and served for the Chicago Archdiocesan College of Consultors.  Bishop Wypych was ordained and installed as Auxiliary Bishop of Chicago on August 10, 2011.  He is the Vicar for Vicariate V.
